In the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games Marathon, a Burmese runner ran barefoot above the hot Cambodian streets. Myanmar runner Ma Myint Myint Aye, who is already 41 years old, ran barefoot in the SEA Games marathon and finished 5th place with a record of 3:11:52 for a distance of 26 miles.
