If durian trees are planted for one year and the prices are good, you can live off the earnings for about three years. This durian farm generates about 1.5 million baht in revenue per year. As for me, I am paid a monthly wage of 9,000 baht. I really want to go back to my mother, but I don’t have enough money, so I can’t go back yet,” said Aung Ko Thike, a worker on a durian farm on Koh Samui, Thailand.

  1. Vietnam Durian Farmers are selling their produces to China and Making U$70,000 a year from 1 hecter of land. The same land area can be produced rice for U$6000 a year for a rice farmer. They are having less water supply and salt water intrusion to the farm at the same time. Mymr farmers should consider to take up some benefits out from it with right tools. The country may need this soon.
